In this working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Dakar, stands the proud house of Ndiouga Thiam, a renowned jeweler and family patriarch, who has realized his dream of bringing almost all his descendants together under one roof. Baabel thus unites four generations living in a single house. The challenges of coexistence don't prevent the residents from maintaining a certain equilibrium under the rule of the authoritarian Ndiouga.
