In one of her last public appearances, virtuoso classical vocalist (and star of Indian cinema) M.S. Subbulakshmi delivers an inspired performance in accepting India's prestigious Swaralaya Puraskaram award. Lauded by Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Subbulakshmi proves worthy of all her honors in this 1997 concert before a hometown audience in Chennai.
